Saffia Farr is the author of Revolution Baby: Motherhood and Anarchy in Kyrgyzstan (Spire Publishing). Tickets £1.50 library members; £2 non-members, in advance from any South Gloucestershire Library.
Ever fancied getting away from it all and living in a yurt!! Local author Saffia Farr did just that when she moved to Kyrgyzstan in Central Asia with her husband Matthew who is a water engineer, working on aid projects. What’s more she was fifteen weeks pregnant with her first child!
Come along to hear Saffia talk about her experiences and read extracts from her book which has been described by Susie Weldon in the Western Daily Press as ‘ an engaging, vivid and often hilarious account of how Saffia survived expat life…‘ There will also be an opportunity to sample a real Kyrgyz welcome with costumes, crafts, music and vodka!
More details about Saffia and Revolution Baby, her first book, are available on Saffia’s website below which contains photographs, articles and chapter one – Dawn Arrival.

However, we are more than just a walking club. The Ramblers is a registered charity and one of its aims is to campaign to keep the footpath network open.
