The Discover Festival is an exciting and diverse programme of events for all ages to discover something new in South Gloucestershire. It is organised by South Gloucestershire Council, local residents, community groups and businesses.
The first Discover Festival in 2012 saw over 6000 people attending 186 events across the local area.

The BBC Domesday Project created a snapshot of Britain in 1986. Originally published on laserdisc, which rapidly fell into obsolescence, the project is now available on-line.
The Society promotes interest in the history of Olveston and surrounding areas and collects and preserves documentary and photographic records.
We meet at the Methodist Church on the first Wednesday of each month from October to April with guest speakers on topics as diverse as The Severn Channel during the Ice Age and Concorde. In Summer we usually have two or three field trips, often following up talks given during the previous winter. Visitors are always welcomed and, more often than not, recruited.
SCARP is a Heritage Lottery Funded project to help local groups research their historic environment, whilst providing the opportunity to engage in conservation of historic sites in South Gloucestershire.
SGMRG was set up by local people to understand, record and where appropriate preserve the remains, of what was once an extensive industry, for the present community and future generations.
SGMRG is a voluntary organisation that relies on grants and donations from local people. Our membership is made up of archaeologists, surveyors, historians, engineers, cavers and those simply interested in finding more about what lies under their feet.
